As you can see, I’ve started making some changes with the site. Things might be a bit weird for the next few hours but everything should be back to normal soon.

I knew that I had put off putting the photos from our hiking adventure a couple of weekends ago but they are online now. There were a couple of them that I really liked, however, the high-noon sun made for some pretty “harsh” lighting. Check out the gallery from the North Trail hike.

I just wanted to create a short list of some of the things I would like to work on this blog as the time comes available. I am doing this so that I don’t keep putting it off.

• Fix IE margin issue (accomodate photo galleries)
• Compress content before it is sent to the browser
• Font style switcher
• Fix blog text styles (headers, blockquotes, and lists)
• Reorganize blog categories
• Add daily bookmarks to front page
• Look into improving current bookmarks
• Any other suggestions?

As I mentioned before, I’ve started changing some things with this blog. One of the things I really disliked about my site was the look and feel of the comments section. I know they are not used very often but I still wanted to changed them a bit.

I am testing a “live comment preview” feature that I saw first implemented on John Hicks’ blog. Let me know if you have any problems with it or if you don’t find it one bit useful. I am thinking on using this on a project I am currently working on so I thought I would give it a shot here.

I am also thinking of giving the site a bit of a face lift but we’ll see how much spare time I have available in the next weeks. I don’t claim to be a designer of any sort so I always “fear” this part of the whole development process. I have a couple of things I want to implement, maybe that will keep me busy enough to forget about redesigning.

All right, I am in somewhat of a break with the latest web project that I am working on, so I decided I would give this site a little TLC. There are a few things on the site that I don’t like but I wanted them on the site asap. Since it was a “personal” site, I thought that would be fine.

However, I got my very first link-back to this site this past week (thanks Mike!) and so I felt this rush to clean things up in here — just in case I have that occasional un-announced visitor drop by.

I also have seen a few things that I would like to implement regarding the “comments”. Now, I know that they are hardly being used here but I can use a couple of these “thingys” in another project I work on, so I would put the experimentation part on this site and once I have managed to get it right, I can implement these innovations on the project site.

I guess what I am saying is that although I am not going away, some things might look a bit funny during the next few days.
