We had a quick but very nice trip to Texas over the weekend. The trip to Texas was a pretty uneventful except for a few minutes where we caught a thunderstorm moving through east New Mexico. Watching the lighting lit up the plains was a great sight, but the rain poured down pretty heave for a few minutes shortly after that which made that portion of the trip a little stressful.

Saturday morning we went to pick up Sarah’s new toy and the reason for the fast weekend adventure to Amarillo. She wanted to have a lower car payment and decided to trade in her S2000 convertible for a new Accord. It was a little emotional because she really enjoyed, we both did, having that car in a city where you could drive it year round. The Accord handles very well and I am sure she will learn to love it. It already paid off to have that extra space around and the XM radio made the trek through New Mexico much more enjoyable. I have included some photos of the new car with this entry but I will place more when we clean it up a bit after the trip back.

So, even though everyone else had their own ideas about why we went to Amarillo in such a rush, I hate to disappoint you with the news about Sarah’s new car. I will talk more about the new car in the next few weeks.
