I just replaced my car’s battery since it has given me a couple of scares. The exchange did not take more than just a few minutes but in the process I’ve managed to loose my radio for a few hours. As it turns out, Honda decided to implement a nice safety feature in my radio where if power is interrupted for a certain amount of time, it resets an internal code.

The only way to regain use of the radio and CD is by entering THE code once again. Of course, I have looked through all of my documentation and I don’t know what is my code. Google turned out a few results but everyone points me to taking my car to the dealer where they will kindly reset it for free!.

Thanks Honda for the opportunity to listen to my car’s engine as the entertainment for the next few hours.

update: I called the local dealer and they told me that I had to contact the dealer where I bought my car (in Texas). Luckily, Sarah’s dad works at such dealer so I gave him a call I explained to him the situation. He will get the code from the service shop and give me a call back. What’s even better? I was able to chit-chat with him for a few minutes something I had not done in a while.
