Despite the collection of font links I have been putting together, I realized I wanted a couple of pixel fonts for my powerbook. I had bookmarked Fontleech back in February but I just rediscovered the link to this great site. I am now able to easily find new fonts for my mac in an easy to find location.

Just a quick side note, I cannot believe how easy it is to install a new font on an Apple. Not that it is hard to do it on a Windows machine, but having a font manager installed by default certainly makes a big difference when it comes to the user experience.

I just replaced my car’s battery since it has given me a couple of scares. The exchange did not take more than just a few minutes but in the process I’ve managed to loose my radio for a few hours. As it turns out, Honda decided to implement a nice safety feature in my radio where if power is interrupted for a certain amount of time, it resets an internal code.

The only way to regain use of the radio and CD is by entering THE code once again. Of course, I have looked through all of my documentation and I don’t know what is my code. Google turned out a few results but everyone points me to taking my car to the dealer where they will kindly reset it for free!.

Thanks Honda for the opportunity to listen to my car’s engine as the entertainment for the next few hours.

update: I called the local dealer and they told me that I had to contact the dealer where I bought my car (in Texas). Luckily, Sarah’s dad works at such dealer so I gave him a call I explained to him the situation. He will get the code from the service shop and give me a call back. What’s even better? I was able to chit-chat with him for a few minutes something I had not done in a while.

Durante los minutos finales, el portero suplente Talavera se fractura y ahora me imagino va a estar fuera de actividad por cierto tiempo. El cuadro todavia se puede reforzar con dos jugadores mas y a lo mejor estas lesiones pude ser razon para poder hacerlo. Vamos a ver que decide la organizacion.

I also came across this tip with regards to MySQL security and something to keep in mind when dealing with authenticaing users.

For instance, suppose a user keys in the value for USERNAME as ##” and for PASSWORD, he keys in anything. Because MySQL interprets the character “##” as a comment, the query is terminated when the “##” character is found and there definitely will be a record matching just the username. The query thus returns a record and allows this user to login. Always be sure to check whether the username contatins a character like “##” and throw an appropriate error before even sending it to the database.

SELECT 1 FROM <USERTABLE> WHERE USERNAME="<USERNAME>" AND USERPASSWORD="<USERPASSWORD>"

My nephew had his kindergarden graduation last week and part of the ceremony involved the teacher asking each kid what they wanted to be when they grew up. Kids wanted to be doctors, teachers, policemen, firemen and other well known professions. It is Marcelino’s turn to answer this question and without even a hint of a smile, he tells the crowd he wants to be a ninja turtlewhen he grows up.

Needless to say the crowd enjoyed the seriousness of his answer and my sister wasn’t sure wether to hide or laugh. Now, let the training begin as a future ninja turtle has come to the world.
