I grew up in a very traditional Catholic country and I also attended catholic schools while I lived in Mexico. John Paul II became pope when I was just two years old and although I do not recall his first days, I grew up admiring his love for kids and the sick. There has been a lot of controversy about his role within the Church for the past 26 years, but one thing that cannot be argued is the respect the entire world has for Karol Wojtyl. I am also certain that he is a much better place and will continue to guide us and pray for us from above.

The title of this entry was a well known phrase that John Paul II made during one of his trips to Mexico. I didn’t have the opportunity to see him live but the energy and passion could be felt even through the tv sets. We will miss you John Paul II.
