March Madness first round

Just a quick note to let everyone concerned know that I am still here, however, classes are definitely taking most of my spare time and work has been a bit crazy this week. However, March Madness begins tomorrow so here are the teams to cheer for during the first round.

Chicago: Illinois, Nevada, Alabama, BC, LSU, Arizona, St. Mary’s, and Oklahoma St.
Albuquerque: Washington, Pacific, Texas Tech, Gonzaga, West Virginia and Wake Forest
Syracuse: UNC, Minnesota, New Mexico, Florida, Wisconsin, Kansas, NC State, and Connecticut.
Austin: Duke, Stanford, Michigan St., Syracuse, Utah, OU, Iowa, and Kentucky.

Syracuse’s loss is going to cost me a few points in the overall bracket but it is good to see the underdog come through in overtime. No more surprises with me teams though. Bucknell eliminated Kansas in the second major upset of the first round. I had Kansas going all the way to the Elite Eight so their loss is also going to cost me quite a few points. I can’t imagine many people picking Bucknell over KU so maybe we still have a chance.

  1. Oh Yeah!!! My Red Raiders are in the Sweet 16!!!!!!

  2. With the loss of Kansas and Syracuse, I decided to just enjoy the tournament as a fan and without a special interest on who would win each game — mostly because my bracket does not look so good without those 2 teams.

Now let me ask you this question, did you actually think they were going to beat Gonzaga? honestly? I am glad they won but I didn’t think they could come through in that game.

Illinois and UNC are my picks for the Championship game

  3. Ok, ok…even though I picked Tech to win in my brackets…I still felt it was a reach and that they wouldn’t make the Sweet 16. So, I was on the fence…

And after tonight…I am 100% sure that if they beat WVU they would have lost to Louisville. but that is what makes March Maddness so much fun to watch.
