Not sure why we do it but we have managed to survive another soccer tournament this past weekend. Our team is certainly not in top shape, we’ve never been, but we always come together when it counts. We had two games on Saturday and two more on Sunday. We lost one game to one of the top teams in our league and we lost to our league’s champions on Sunday’s semifinal match. On the good side, we beat a team from New Mexico and the Scottsdale league champs to earn our pass to the semifinal.

Add an evening of cocktails on Saturday night to celebrate a friend’s last days as a bachelor and you can see how things get a bit, mmm, dehydrated?. First time I have been out until 2 o’clock since Arizona changed that law and I could feel it Sunday morning. Sunday night we went out to dinner to celebrate Cesar’s birthday and we were all beat, asking ourselves why we still do this. The answer? just to prove that we still can.
