The BBC has an article about the lack of access to the Bush campaign website from outside the United States. Netcraft posted their observations and have posted a dynamic chart that updates thewebsite’s performance from several of their servers around the world. Netcraft’s servers outside the US are still not able to receive a response from the website hosted by Akamai.
My only question for the people that made this decision, how will Americans living overseas should be able to access the content? Especially since the President has mentioned his website in several of his public appearances. Hopefully word from the campaign will clear this matter or the rumors on the internets
might ligthen us up.
update: eWeek has also picked up the story and have attempted to contact campaign staff members for more information.
Efforts to get an explanation from the Bush campaign regarding the blocking of foreign sites have been unsuccessful. But the campaign has told eWEEK.com that a full explanation is forthcoming.
