Here we go, brace yourself.

I spent this weekend mostly trying to not think about Monday’s start of “classes” and I would say that I did a pretty good job of it. Saturday morning, Sarah and I went out to become one with nature and tackled a 3.1 mile hike around McDowell mountains’s North Trail. The day was perfect for being outdoors so we had coffee and bagels outside and then headed up to our hiking adventure. I took several photos of our outing, which I have to admit had a couple of stories to tell but I will save those for a better occassion. Maybe once I post the photos online I will talk about my encounter with a “teddy bear cholla.”

Sunday went by without much of an incident. I had to do some cleaning at the apartment and getting a couple of things done online. I also had to do some research with an issue I had with my work computer. At the time it “appeared” that I had been hacked but I could not really confirm it. Just to update that situation today, our technical support people could not neither confirm nor deny the fact that my computer had been exploited. The fact that I had to do a fresh install of windows XP at the end of the day would pretty much confirm that something did happen to my workstation. So I will spend tomorrow getting it back to speed and hopefully be able to recover my backup files.

Today being monday, I watched my first class lecture and all I can say at this time is WOW! I think I am over my head a little bit. I certainly know I have a bunch of stuff to read so I am off to read for a bit before it gets much later tonight. Stay tuned for more school updates.
