Given the fact that Sarah will be in Texas during Thanksgiving, I was going to be bound to watch the Cowboys (or whomever is playing that day) by myself with a turkey tv dinner by my side. Thanks to a couple of close friends here in town, this will not be case and I will spend the holiday among friends and family (even though it is their family).

A few days ago I saw a commercial for buyabird.org and I knew it was something that I needed to be part of.

Buy-A-Bird™ is a fundraising campaign intended to supplement the physical donation of holiday meals to Food Banks during the holidays.

I am blessed to have friends and family who care for me, enough to make sure I don’t spend holidays alone, but I wonder how many people out there don’t even have this luxury? It is a little something that I can do and in the spirit of giving thanks for what we have, I hope that my small donation can make a difference in someone else’s life — enough for them to be thankful for one day.
