Quick little update.

Hello,

been a while so I thought I would get online for a second and do a quick recap. Things are going well over here, really hot these days but I guess it does come with the territory. Over the weekend we tied and broke the “high” records and we started the week with a heat advisory. It is taking some getting use to but it is not as bad as it sounds. A lot of people sort of freak out when the mercury reaches 100+ but once you are here and you find yourself ocupied, you forget the fact that you are in the middle of the desert.

These days is monsoon season in Arizona. Monsoon??? it basically means that our chance for rains goes from 0.001% to a whopping 5% during these days. I am kidding here but it is supposed to be rain season and it is raining all over the state except in here in the valley. I sort of miss a nice “cold” day when the clouds are out and a cup of coffee in the balcony is the best thing in the world. Northern Arizona here we go!!!!

My parents where recently in Oregon visiting my sister Karla and her family. I am still expecting some photos from them but given my dad’s latest interest in photography, the scanner and his computer skills, I am faithful that I will get some in the next few days. I have not seen Marcelino in a while so it will be great to see him again, even if it is on a photo.

This should get you going for now and keep you busy for a whole 2 minutes!!!! Hope everyone (as if I had a huge following or something) is doing well.

  1. I remember those good ole days when the temperature in Phoenix was in the 110′s or 120′s…for weeks on end!

Just remember, when you’re basking in the 60-70 degree weather during the winter, us Amarilloians will be freezing our butts off!! :-)

I’m glad to see everything is going well! I’m having a lot of fun reading up on your “going’s on” in the Valley of the Sun!

  2. Mike,

Your message could not have been posted at a better time. Yesterday, we drove through our first dust storm and it was so cool to watch as we made our way through it. Of course, traffic was a bit slower and what not but the view was great. The reason? well, we were driving north with the sun setting while the dust cloud provided a yellowish hue to the whole picture. I have been carrying around my camera quite a bit lately but of course, I did not have it that day. I will try to see if I can find some photos on the web because it was so cool.

Today we had rain in the valley so it is PERFECT right now. The weekend should be clowdy and muggy, due to the rain, but it is nice to have a change to the whole sun and heat routine.

You are right about rubbing it in when it comes to the winter months, although I am afraid that by then we will be used to the heat, that it is going to actually be “cold” once we get there.
