Weather and Recipes?

Lately, I have been playing with web services and I have written two interfaces that give you the weather (for cities that I have selected) and recipes (based on a search keyword).

Rain!!!

We have been hearing all about this monsoon season that happens every year in Phoenix and although some other areas in the state have received rain, we hadn’t had any since the monsoon officially started. The news mentioned we were going on 105 (or somewhere around that number) days without rain and it all ended last night.

I seems like everyone is just a bit more happy today after the fact that we had water in the valley. Of course, I forgot that today is going to be a bit humid which may bring down everyone’s mood again. In any case, it was nice to see the rain come down and experience that smell once again.

Learning Cricket!

During my visit to South Africa, I was lucky enough to be introduced to cricket. While we were on holiday and the guys were playing golf, I stayed behind and watched the cricket world cup that was going on at the time. I learn a lot of the rules and the game itself from Clinton’s family (and Jodi!) and even go to the point where I knew who “Shane Warne”, “Hansie Cronje” and “Shaun Pollock” were.

In any case, why am I saying all of this? Well, had it not been for that trip and the opportunity to experince cricket first hand (where Clinton almost broke my ribs!!) I would not know how to play the game. To help the rest of the world intersted in learning the game with a different spin to it, I found this article. If nothing else, it does make for a good laugh.
