Yesterday we received an email informing us about the new name for ASU’s College of Engineering and Applied Science (where I currently work). The rename comes after a $50 MILLION donation from Mr. Ira A. Fulton. The college now will be named in his honor Ira A. Fulton College of Engineering. This comes after a New York investment banker donated the same amount of money ($50 MILLION!) to the college of business, which is now the W.P. Carey School of Business.

So, I guess $50 M gets you a school name at ASU, if you have the spare change.

As a young boy, he was named a Valley newspaper’s carrier of the year. Later on, the National Cash Register company named him a Salesman of the Year.
